Napoleon IIIrd – ‘Hit Schmooze’ – Director Steve Glashier & Mike Prior

A lot of people think daytime TV is a waste of time, and I’d generally agree with them, apart from one specific occasion: I can’t remember what the programme was, but there was a feature on Richmond Park and, after watching it, I knew I wanted to make a video there. The Napoleon song came in and the narrative suggested itself really.

We started with some monster sketches by Matt Sewell that were then mocked up as models. I spent a lot of time looking into model making and realised that, what with everything that goes on inside the model, we were going to have to find someone really small to make it work. Luckily El, who works with Prinzhorn Dance School, is about 5 foot tall and very suggestable.
