An absolute ball ache of a video! It was our first time working in a studio and when I say it took 2 days, we literally worked for 40 hours solid. We had an idea to use cardboard sets, but the muppets who were making them completely fucked it, so we had to come up with an idea on the spot. We basically blacked the walls out, covered them in paper, made little nicks and attached lengths of fishing wire to pull from behind the camera: we only had one chance to get it right… Absolute fucking nightmare! We used some clever tricks too, like the way the camera swoops down at the start, that’s all done with stills. We were also using a home made dolly, which we timed with beeps to make sure we were in the right place and going at the right speed. It looks good finished, but it’s a more important video more for what we learned: firstly, that wherever possible, we’d never go back into a studio, and secondly, that making videos is the best way to kill yourself with no fucking money.
